The James Altucher Show

536 - How to Captivate Someone on a Gut Level: Renowned "Fight Club" Author Chuck Palahniuk Releases The Best Book on Writing I've Ever Read (And I've Read Them All)

Episode Summary

Chuck Palahniuk is the author of Fight Club... a cult classic. And one of my favorite books. I felt so lucky getting to watch him breakdown storytelling. Because he does it in a way that goes beneath the surface. He takes you into what it means to be human. He makes you feel seen and like your life, as messy as it is, makes sense.  Now he has a new book called, "Consider This: Moments in My Writing Life after Which Everything Was Different." Which not only has all the best writing advice I've ever seen, it also has a list of recommended books in the back. Chuck and I read through the list. He asked me, "Have you read this one?" And said the title. I said, "No." He said, "I'm so jealous. It's like you're about to have sex for the first time." I can't wait. I write about all my podcasts!
