Garry Kasparov is the best chess player in history. He was ranked #1 in the world for 20 years. And in 2007, he ran for president of Russia. Now he lives in exile. Going back to Russia is not an option for him. When I asked him, "Would you be in trouble?" he said, "Trouble is an understatement." He'd be arrested or worse because of his outspokenness and belief in democracy. He believes in America. And he's noticed a lot of young people don't seem to believe in America or its ideals. They don't realize the free world is always being threatened. Garry says, "We cannot separate ourselves from the world. We need to be more proactive. If you don’t want to be proactive you’ll be subject to manipulations." Use this episode as a chance to rediscover history, develop skepticism, become a sharper critical thinker and strength your ability to fight off manipulation online and in real life.
